Historic Floyd Casey Stadium, originally named Baylor Stadium, was built in 1950 and currently seats 50,000 fans. In 1988, it was renamed Floyd Casey Stadium after longtime University supporters Carl B. and Thelma Casey. Baylor University, a private institution located in Waco, Texas, is the world's largest Baptist University. Chartered in 1845 by the Republic of Texas, Baylor is the oldest, continually operating university in the state and currently enrolls over 14,000 students.
