Carolina Panthers Bank Of America Stadium Picture
This panorama, taken at Bank of America Stadium, highlights the Carolina Panthers football team playing to their hometown fans in Charlotte, North Carolina. On October 26, 1993, NFL owners unanimously selected Carolina as the 29th NFL franchise and the first expansion team since 1976. It was a dream come true for Carolina Panthers’ Owner/Founder, Jerry Richardson, who became just the second former player to own an NFL team. Fan enthusiasm was also apparent, when support poured in across the Carolinas at an unprecedented rate, resulting in preseason game sell-outs in Raleigh, NC in 1989, Chapel Hill, NC in 1990 and Columbia, SC in 1991. This panorama was taken by James Blakeway.
