The Indianapolis Motor Speedway, originally built as an automobile testing facility, is one of the most storied racing facilities in the world. The Indianapolis 500® Mile Race has been one of America's great sporting traditions since 1911. The Indy 500®, which is part of the Indy Racing League® IndyCar® Series, takes place each Memorial Day weekend and is the largest attended single-day sporting event in the world. The Speedway also hosts the annual Allstate® 400 at the Brickyard® and the Indianapolis MotoGP Motorcycle Race. This aerial panorama was photographed by James Blakeway.
