The Age of Sail made exploration possible. It opened the world to trade and cultural exchange. Models were made as votives for the port chapel or as shipyard models to impress the Admiralty Lords. Or possibly just as an exquisite creation by a gifted model maker for a friend or patron. Like dollhouses mesmerize children, our wonderful collection of sailing ships and runabouts continue to fascinate and intrigue.
